Text Box: COMCARE believes that education is a key component of optimal control of many diseases. There are many opportunities to receive the appropriate instruction and monitoring necessary through Wellplan - the educational arm for COMCARE. WellPlan offers programs on Weight Management and Diabetes Management. Information can be obtained by calling 785-452-3244. Diabetes Classes A series of six classes designed to assist with the management of diabetes and prevention of long term complications. These classes are for people with a new diagnosis of diabetes or those needing refresher classes to improve their management of diabetes. Topics include: overview of diabetes, nutrition, exercise, medications, blood glucose monitoring / goals, foot care, stress management and more. Sessions are offered throughout the year at $20 per class.

Breaking Free

Breaking Free is a group class for persons that have weight issues resulting from emotional eating issues. It consists of 12 monthly group sessions and five individual sessions throughout the year. Activities will be assigned for participants to complete each month. Classes are offered Wednesday evenings. The class cost is $132 plus $25 per month. Diabetes Foot Clinic

This clinic is for Diabetes patients to help them learn proper foot care to prevent common foot problems frequently associated with diabetes. The clinic is staffed by Nurse Practitioners and Certified Diabetes Educators. Clinics are held quarterly and the cost is $164. For more information call WellPlan at 785-452-3244.
